Emergency Services Carol Service 2017

THE emergency services in North Wales are preparing to host their annual Christmas carol service, and this year Welsh opera star Rhys Meirion is set to perform.

The service, jointly hosted by the Welsh Ambulance Service, North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and their partners, will be held at St Asaph Cathedral on Monday 11 December at 7.30pm.

There will also be performances from Eisteddfod winner Dafydd Jones, Denbighshire Youth Choir and Northop Silver Band.

Admission is free and members of the public are warmly invited to attend.

Proceeds will go to the Wales Air Ambulance charity.

Tracy Myhill, Chief Executive of the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: “This service is an opportunity for the emergency services and our partners to come together to strike the right festive note.

“It’s also a chance to reflect on the vital role we play in serving communities across Wales, and pay tribute to those who protect and help to keep us safe 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

“Anyone is welcome to attend this wonderful evening, which traditionally has always been very well attended and promises to get you into the Christmas spirit.

“I’d like to wish our staff, volunteers, partners and members of the public a very Merry Christmas and healthy and happy New Year.”

Guests of the carol service are invited to park at nearby Ysgol Glan Clwyd.
